Matchbook - Restaurants Bars App Reviews

I have been using this app for years but all of my info recently got deleted and I cant find a way to get it back.

UPDATE: Pretty unhappy about the new version since it deleted ALL my data. It says I have 0 entries, and theres no way Im going to go through the effort of re-entering in my 75+ locations. Whats the point of this app remembering something for you if it has amnesia? Great idea, terrible execution. This is a great solution for foodies who love to keep track of their favorite restaurants but also take note of places they walk by & dont want to forget. The map feature is key, but there are plenty of ways this app could be improved even further. I would love to see filtering options on the map itself & a better tagging feature (show my most recent tags first so I dont have to type "brunch" in 200 times, have the list sort from shortest to longest so "brunch in scandenavia" isnt the first option I accidentally click, etc). I could easily see this getting incorporated with friends (sending a person a pin to drop on their map as a recommendation where the other person could accept/deny) & tying it in with Open Table so you can instantly reserve a restaurant. Theres a large upwards limit for this app - would love to see it flourish and spread!

This is a great app. A must have for people who dine in many places and cant remember those great restaurant that theyd been to. Not only this is a useful app but the interface is also nicely done. Great job guys!!!

Was a fabulous app, great way to keep track of places, write notes, happy hour times etc without all the bustle of yelp. Latest version keeps crashing and as of today, will not open. Looking forward to next update (or other app to use to switch over my info)

Good, clean, convenient.

This app was great when it worked, however like the last reviewer, I have lost all of my entries... Over 500 of them, many of them with notes. This is at least the third time this has happened to me within the last 2 years. Agree with the last reviewer... Whats the use of an app to remember things if it deletes everything on you? So much work lost... What a waste of time!

I cant say Im happy with this app as I spent over a year updating it with info and it deleted everything. I had a lot of restaurants in there. So lame.

This seemed like it would be a great little app, and it was, until all of my entries spontaneously deleted. Now Im kind of sad, and kind of annoyed that all of those nifty places I wanted to visit (or remember) are gone and cant be recalled. Disappointing, that.

My wife and I used to love Matchbook. Sadly, it has become far less useful than it used to be. Missing lots of great restaurants and coffee shops (even older ones) and adding new locations is cumbersome. Hopefully it will get better soon. A great, simple idea that used to be executed well.

The idea is great but the app is constantly deleting my bookmarked places

I use this app constantly to catalog over 300 places and fear losing them. It always quits, will not log me in and they never respond to any technical issues. Use Bobby Pin App instead.

Great idea if only the app worked well. Today the restaurants websites do not load. Tomorrow? Keeping it for reference until I find a better app.

Ive had my bookmarks disappear multiple times, they came back days later. Two friends lost all their bookmarks. Too scared to keep using it.

This app is so broken its ridiculous. Not even worth it until fixed, free or not.

Ive been using this app for quite some time, and have gone through problem after problem. Everyone has a breaking point, and unfortunately, Ive reached mine. Switching to SALT.

App is awesome when it works. Weekends its almost always down, which is when you need it most. When you send them an email it takes 4-5 days to get a response and its the same response over and over, delete the app and try again.

I want to love this app but cant due to the tech difficulties. Always crashing and losing my bookmarks. Ive saved so many places in so many different cities I want to keep it but worry they will be lost. Fix the bugs matchbook or someone else will steal your idea!!

Great app, one of my favorites, but no one responds to email. My bookmarks that I spent many months gathering and using are currently not visible to me. I created an account as asked so that this would not happen. Is this app still being supported or not??

I loved the concept and it worked great for a while but when the app updated I lost all of my info! This happened twice. Extremely disappointing.

Loved the concept and love using it. Love when things work out! Keeps me checking out new places!
